In ensuring the safety of lives and property in Igbo-Etiti LGA, the council Chairman Hon. Ikenna Nwodo, on Thursday the 20th of October 2022, inaugurated the Igbo-Etiti Rapid Response Squad, to boost security operations in the council area.
The unit which is specially equipped to provide assistance to the existing neighbourhood security apparatus, has prior to the inauguration, undergone extensive security training and arming for the role, and is supported with two new vehicles, with motorcycles to follow.
The establishment is to prevent lawlessness in the area, and ensure that the peace and orderliness enjoyed by the local government dwellers and passersby, continue.
Speaking during the inauguration, the Mayor said:
“Igbo-Etiti will continuously conduct liaison, coordination, and cooperation with other concerned security forces to ensure that peace and order are maintained in Igbo-Etiti”.

A good LGA security which creates a peaceful living environment for the people of Igbo-Etiti, increases the council’s internally generated revenue, as potential investors will be assured of their safety, enhances the trust between the leaders and the led, and reduces the operational costs for the government, resulting from damages and repairs.
