Following the end of the sit at home in the state as was announced by the governor of Enugu state, His Excellency, Barr Peter Ndubisi Mbah, the Chairman of Igbo-Etiti local government, Hon. Ikenna Nwodo and his staff were at work at the council headquarters, Ogbede.
Nwodo who took his time to go round the council to monitor the situation, cheered up the workers who were there in their numbers, commending them for turning out to work, to re-kickstart Monday back into a productive day of the week.
Hon. Nwodo also took time to go round some parts of the local government area, visiting some communities to inspect some of the ongoing projects the council was executing there. He was at the Ikolo borehole site to see the progress of work there. He also visited the Eke Aku market to observe first hand what was going on at the area. And in all these places, the mayor commended the people for coming out, assuring them the state government had put up strong security measures to ensure they safely went about their businesses without any molestation from anybody.
Nwodo who expressed his delight with the level of response and cooperation from citizens commended the governor for his courage to bring the obnoxious sit at home to an end as the people have long been yearning for. He noted with delight that Mondays have now been fully brought back into the work days of the week in the area.
