The Executive Chairman of Igbo-Etiti LGA, Hon. Ikenna Nwodo, in the company of the LGA staff and community leaders, today, commissioned the Ogbede Health Centre Borehole.
The principle behind the saying that water is life recognizes the importance of this essential natural resource to life.
It also shows that not only should its availability be facilitated by the government; for the benefit of the people, but that access to clean, and portable water supply is a responsibility that every government should take up.
This, the government of the day in Igbo-Etiti LGA, led by Hon. Ikenna Nwodo understands, and today, fulfilled through the commissioning of the Ogbede Health Centre Borehole.
The Ogbede borehole commissioning is the beginning of many others to follow, as part of phase 1 of the IGBO-ETITI WATER 4 ALL project.
The Water 4 all is the LG’s project integrated into the larger UNICEF & WATER AID WASH (Water, Sanitation and Hygiene) program, aimed at providing adequate water supply and sanitation facilities/practices across the local government council.
This collaborative effort was kick-started with the rehabilitation of non-functional existing boreholes in the LGA, among which are: Ezi Ukehe, Ohodo, and Ogbede Health Centre.
