The Executive Chairman of Igbo-Etiti LGA, Hon. Ikenna Nwodo has embarked on drainage construction and road rehabilitation in Diogbe; at a pivotal point connecting 3 communities in the council area and as part of his administrations overarching road construction and maintenance works across the council area.
The Diogbe road which had been done multiple times in the past but keeps failing due to the lack of a drainage system, finally gets a lasting solution.
This lasting solution is being achieved through the construction of a circa 400 meter drainage structure on the road, on the intersection between Umunko and Ukehe.
It aims to forestall the perennial flooding in the area and the consequent road damage.
The project is currently in its first phase which involves the construction of the drainages, while the second phase constitutes standard road repairs to asphalt level.
This project has the potential to benefit everyone in the area as it will reduce damages caused by flooding, transportation-related expenditures and ease movement for commuters across the area.
