Commissioning of the Revitalized Ugwuinyinya Uwelle Amokofia, Ukehe Water Works

The Executive Chairman of Igbo-Etiti LGA, Hon. Ikenna Nwodo recently commissioned the newly revitalized Ugwuinyinya Uwelle Amokofia, Ukehe water facility in the presence of the Igwe of the community, H.R.H. Igwe I. G. Ogili, members of the traditional council of elders, youth leaders and other stakeholders.
 
The revitalization scheme included the drilling of a new 8.5 inch borehole, installation of new UPVC pipes and riser pipes, installation of new 7.5 HP submersible pump, installation of a new control panel, maintenance of overhead tank and stanchions, refurbishment of generator, reconstruction of fetching points, well logging, well development, water treatment and testing, all for the purpose of providing portable and sanitary water suitable for human consumption and use.
 
Following the commissioning of the facility, a facility management committee has been set up, and is to be inaugurated and trained by Unicef and Water Aid, to ensure the proper management and sustainability of the facility.
