Light Up Igbo-Etiti

The Igbo-Etiti Rural Electrification project tagged ‘light up Igbo-Etiti’, is aimed at providing power supply across the council area.

The project, which is currently on-going, kicked off with an assessment of the power challenges in the local government, including the geo-mapping of the LG; done to establish black spots of electricity in the area, in a bid to start the process of remedying the situation.

So far, the Hon. Ikenna Nwodo led administration has repaired and commissioned various heretofore dysfunctional power transformers, and also provided new functional transformers to various communities in the council area.

Some of the work done include:

1. Provision and commission of 500KVA Transformer at Uwelle Amokofia Ukehe, alongside refurbishment of the Transformer Station (Completed).
2. Provision and commission of 500KVA Transformer at Onyohor Junction (Completed).
3. Provision and Commission of 300KVA Transformer at Ohebe Dim (Completed).
4. Commissioning of 300 KVA Transformer and installation of distribution lines in Umuna (Completed).
5. Support for Provision and Commission of Transformer at Ikpogwu, Ukehe.
6. Provision of 300KVA Transformer at Ohodo (yet to be commissioned).
7. Rural Electrification and Reticulation Programme in Ozalla.1 Million Naira Grant was given, to Support Rural Electrification and Reticulation in Ozalla.

More rural electrification projects such as the above are still being planned for execution, as the primary aim of the #lightupigboetiti project is to fix all the power related issues in the council and indeed LIGHT UP Igbo-Etiti.
