The Enugu State Government has commenced the resolution process for payroll verification issues affecting Local Government and State workers, including pensioners.
In a statement released on Monday by the Secretary to the State Government, Prof. Chidiebere Onyia, the government acknowledged concerns from affected workers following the recent verification exercise and assured the public of a fair and transparent review process.
Ensuring Payroll Integrity
Only individuals who successfully completed the verification process were included in the payroll. However, complaints have emerged regarding the outcome of the exercise. In response, the government has directed the Verification Committee to reassess these cases to ensure that only eligible workers are reinstated while maintaining the system’s integrity.

“The government is committed to a fair and transparent review process to ensure that only eligible workers are reinstated while maintaining the integrity of the system.”

Steps for Resolution
Affected individuals are required to visit the Local Government Service Commission Office from 4th to 21st March 2025 to resolve their verification issues.
Commitment to Transparency
The verification team will thoroughly assess all complaints, ensuring that only those with valid claims are reinstated. The Enugu State Government remains dedicated to upholding transparency and accountability in public service administration.
