The Chairman of Igbo-Etiti Local Government Area, Dr. Eric Odo, has officially flagged off the construction of the 16.5KM Umuoka – Nkporogwu Ukehe – Ngele Okwete – Ugwuogo Nike Road.

Speaking during the flag-off ceremony on Wednesday at Eke-Achara in Ukehe, Dr. Odo emphasized that the project would enhance connectivity, ease transportation, and create new economic opportunities for the people.

He also announced the commencement of road openings across all 20 electoral wards in the local government area, a move aimed at ensuring better access to various communities.

A Strategic Project with Security Enhancements

Dr. Eric Odo highlighted that the Umuoka road construction would be completed within 90 days and would be equipped with solar-powered streetlights to improve security along the route.

“This road cuts across three local government areas—Udi, Igbo-Etiti, and Enugu East. It will ease the movement of people and agricultural produce, addressing a long-standing concern of our farmers.”

Commitment to Infrastructure Development

Dr. Odo reiterated that road development is a key priority of his administration, assuring residents that the Umuoka road and other access roads within the LGA would be completed without delays.

“There will be no abandoned projects. The necessary resources have already been mobilized, and funding is secured,” he assured.

Dignitaries Grace the Flag-Off Ceremony

The event was attended by government officials, community leaders, religious figures, women’s groups, and other dignitaries, all of whom expressed optimism about the positive impact of the road project on Igbo-Etiti’s development.
