Igbo-Etiti LG Partners with Glo to Expand Internet Access and Equip Tech Hub with 250 Laptops

The Igbo-Etiti Local Government has entered into a strategic partnership with Nigeria’s telecom giant, Globacom Limited, to enhance telecommunication services and internet penetration across the region. This collaboration aims to expand network coverage, improve connectivity, and provide reliable mobile and internet services, especially for rural communities.

Council Chairman's Commitment to Digital Empowerment

During a meeting with the Globacom team at the Local Government Secretariat in Ogbede, the Executive Chairman, Dr. Eric Odo, emphasized that the partnership will strengthen telecom infrastructure, bridge communication gaps, and drive economic growth by improving access to technology and digital resources.

Glo’s Commitment to Expanding Connectivity

Speaking on behalf of Globacom, the South East Regional Head, Mr. Chikeokwu Ikenna, expressed appreciation for the opportunity to partner with the Igbo-Etiti Local Government. He noted that, beyond improving connectivity and internet access, the collaboration will also boost revenue generation for the LGA, making it a game-changer for businesses and residents alike.

“This partnership with Glo is a step toward bridging the digital divide and empowering our youths with technology.”

Mr. Ikenna reaffirmed Globacom’s commitment to ensuring that Glo network services reach every community in Igbo-Etiti, recognizing that businesses in the 21st century depend on technology to thrive.

Presentation of Partnership Certificate and SIM Distribution

The event concluded with the official presentation of the partnership certificate to the Executive Chairman, alongside the distribution and registration of SIM cards for residents, marking the beginning of a new era of digital transformation in Igbo-Etiti.
