The Chairman of Igbo-Etiti Local Government Area, Dr. Eric Odo, has reaffirmed his administration’s dedication to inclusive governance, transparency, and accountability, assuring that public funds will be judiciously used to deliver meaningful development across the council area.
The assurance came when members of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN), Igbo-Etiti Chapter, paid him a courtesy visit at the council headquarters in Ogbede.
Commitment to People-Oriented Leadership
Addressing the delegation, Dr. Odo emphasized that his vision for Igbo-Etiti is anchored on lasting legacies that directly touch lives through infrastructure, education, healthcare, and social welfare. He declared that his mandate is not to enrich himself but to ensure that every available resource translates into visible impact for the people.
“With your prayers and partnership, we can achieve much more,” Odo said, while appreciating the PFN for their support and assuring them that they remain vital stakeholders in the council’s programmes.
Partnership with Faith-Based Organisations
Earlier, the leader of the group and Senior Special Assistant to the Chairman on Spiritual Affairs, Rev. Osita Agu, explained that the visit was to seek greater collaboration with the council. He lauded the chairman’s proactive style of leadership, stressing that government success at the grassroots depends on cooperation with faith-based and community organisations.
Agu further noted that the PFN is ready to partner with the council in mobilising and sensitising their followers about government initiatives, pledging continued support to sustain Igbo-Etiti’s model of good governance.
Strengthening Democratic Participation
Dr. Odo also used the occasion to urge the PFN to encourage their members to participate in the ongoing Continuous Voters Registration (CVR), describing it as an important civic duty. He reassured the gathering of his unwavering support for Governor Peter Mbah’s transformative agenda, which, he noted, is already bringing visible progress to Igbo-Etiti.
The high point of the event was a special prayer offered by the PFN for the council chairman, his team, and the people of Igbo-Etiti, symbolizing a renewed partnership between governance and faith-based leadership for the prosperity of the local government.
